Rest and Relaxation

The Tour de Coops and the Edible Arcadia Tour went wonderfully
well this past weekend and now we have moved inside.
A freezing cold front has rolled in, so now I have no choice
but to get cozy and decorate for Christmas!

curled up with my son drinking tea, reading
Christmas books, and having a roaring fire this morning.

After all this Christmas mantle inspiration I am going to have to stop
resting and get decorating!

Don't you just love this time of year?
What is your favorite part?

  2. I do miss having a mantle this time of year but do LOVE our wood stove. I'll just have to put that inspiration to another part of the house. China cabinet, maybe?

  3. Those mantels are stunning. I leave mine until near to Christmas as I use fresh foilage and I like it to looks its best on Christmas day.

  4. I do love this time of year but probably for all the wrong reasons. I always figure it's the holidays and give in to my sweet tooth and really anything else I want to eat and worry about getting it off in January. Yes, Christmas to me is free pass to eat...lol. Oh yeah, the mantles look great too!

    Hugs Caroline!

  6. Hi Caroline,

I'm such a ding dong...I was thinking...How many mantles does she have? And is all that hard wood flooring original to your house....as I said, I'm an idiot! Those mantles are gorgeous.

PS - I got the sign from Ramsign a couple of days ago. I have to 'buy' more pictures from blogger before I can post anymore, and I'm a techno-scardy-cat when it comes to putting a credit card on the internet. I'll do it. I just have to get my courage up.

  7. What pretty pictures for inspiration. I've been dragging my feet for decorating too and need to get the "move on" or I might as not bother.
Your blog is so pretty and I love looking at your chickens and gardens. Glad the tour went well ~ sounds like lots of fun.
