Farmers/Flea Market Date Change/The Little Man Turns Four

September has been a busy month here at the Boho farm.  Our son turned 4, we started prepping our
beds for fall, we are still working on the kitchen remodel and then every member
of the house has gotten sick in the past three weeks!

Because of all these convergence of events, we have decide to move our
Farmers/Flea Market from November 5 to Saturday, March 24, from 8am to 1pm.
We are sorry to do this but we hope you understand and will be able to join us this spring.

I wanted to share with you our little man's fourth Birthday party and thank
all our friends, family and local community for all they did to
make it such a special day!

Boo loves firemen and hot dogs and that is what he wanted
for his Birthday: A Fireman Hot dog Party.
This was on the front door welcoming guest
It was designed by T-Bone Squid.

All the kids got customized fire hats from the Van Slyke Fire Station.

We had our friends from Short Leash Dog, set up shop in our driveway!  We LOVE them!
The food truck idea was the best...once they drive away, the mess and clean up goes too.
No cooking the day before and cleaning up the day after.  It was the most stress free party ever.
I want a food truck now for every party!

Everyone ordered what they wanted off the menu...

corn dogs

 gourmet hot dogs and fries

and more corn dogs!

We had lots of drinks that day since it was 108 degrees!

Old fashion sodas and root beers in those cute glass bottles.  Don't worry
there is no high fructose corn syrup in these soda pops...only cane sugar.

 Refreshing!

The little man drinking root beer, a treat in our family, since we don't drink soda.

A fire truck pinata...
We have pinatas at all our children's birthday parties. We want our kids to connect to and celebrate the
rich Mexican culture of my Mother in Law.

This custom shirt with the number four on front and Boo's name on the back
is from Miss Shauna at JAM in Old Town Scottsdale.

This kids picking up their loot after the pinata finally breaks.

The cake made by Mama, the topper and flags by T-Bone Squid

Sweet Boy blowing out his candles

And every guest took home one of these as their favors. (T-Bone Squid again)
Featuring Boo's best friend our Scottish Terrier that Boo wistfully calls "Jacky Boy".

A wonderful day was had by all!

Happy Weekend to you!

Fall Rememberings and The Winner Is...

In a few weeks, my daughter and I are going on a girls trip to Chicago.
Fall is what I miss most about living in the Midwest.

I miss front entries filled with mums and pumpkins

 Pinterest

The flaming leaves of the maple trees and the mellow yellow of the oaks.

And my all time fall favorite...fresh milled apple cider and homemade cinnamon doughnuts!

We are hoping to enjoy all these things during our visit.
And the winner of the Ramsign giveaway is...

"Well I think my favorite is the Highlander too. It would look so nice on our new home!"
Thanks Caroline,
Cindy Bee

Congratulation Cindy!  I just know this will look perfect on your new home!

I selected the winner the old fashioned way.  I placed all entries on pieces of paper and put them in a galvanized bucket and selected one.
Don't worry...I composted all the scraps.

Happy Monday!

Interior Vignettes/Giveaway Ends Today

Karina of Capturing Delight Photography came over the other day and took these
vignettes of Boho Farm.  I just love to see the world through the lens of
my dear friend and thought I would share them with you.

This is a picture painted by my daughter, one of many that I have throughout the house,
and the invite for my 40th~We had a White Birthday Soiree.  You can read about it here,
on my sister in law's blog.

My new favorite find "En Ville" French flashcard from Sweet Salvage.
And my FAVORITE cookbook, by my jam mentor Rachel Saunders.

One of my favorite quotes by Jim Elliot over our dining table,
“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.”

The new green in our kitchen nook...a kitchen update is to come.

My girlfriend and I painted these chickens nine years ago.
I did the ones on the left and she did the ones on the right and then we went over
each others work to make it blend.  This took us about 2 hours but
when I get the new counter tops this art is going away...I am sad but also ready for a change.
The little "Merci" banner is from The Willows.

Here is a little nook in our family room where we keep our
coats, umbrellas and irrigation boots.

Sweet Salvage

Here in Phoenix we have a new little gem that just opened up last month
called Sweet Salvage.  Have you been?  If not, it's a must.
They are only open the 3rd Thursday of every month and just for 4 days.

I found some sweet treats for the farm last month!

I have been looking for a 6 foot skinny farm table for years and
the search is over and the price was right!

I will use this table to feed the multitudes with the bench, as a stand alone server for holidays,
and for everyday, it will grace our entry.

Found this French flash card that says "the city" for $3
and since we are all about living and loving the city -- it was mine.

There were many fish that got away last month at Sweet Salvage...
but I am satisfied with these two beauties!

Count down is here...8 more days...and I will be going...with my client list, my personal list
and dreams of fall treasures to be found.

Start saving your money girls for the 3rd Thursday of every month!

Sweet Salvage Hours:
Thursday 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Friday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
