Pictures from the Tour de Coops

Last month for the third year in a row, we participated
in the Phoenix Permiculture Guild's
The Tour de Coops is a self guide tour of twenty
different chicken coops in central Phoenix.

One of the tour goers was Angelina of Angelina Rose Photography
and she sent us these beautiful images of our farm she took that day.

I love to see the world through another artist's eye...

I though I'd share them with you!

I am going to post this weekend the answer to the big question I keep getting asked.
Did the "meaties" every go to freezer camp?  If you want to know, stay tuned...

It is marmalade making day for me--oh how I love fresh citrus.  IT will be for sale this Saturday
at the Mesa Historic Home Tour Market and on Thursday night at JAM Picket Fences event
in Old Town Scottsdale.

Happy Tuesday!

  5. so awesome! love your coop and yard! your home reminds me so much of my fave phoenix resturant, Arcadia Farms :)
since you are familiar with IL suburbs, do you think it would be unwise to have chickens in my yard, with winter and all? i have a pretty big back yard, and of course they would have a fancy coop ;)
i think my daughter would love it too!
i'd love to hear what you think...
have a great time at the home tour and JAM!

  6. Caroline your place looks so amazing, the pictures are wonderful and I can't believe you have so much growing right now but that's Phoenix for you. I love seeing the chickens roaming about your lawn. I would love to have chickens but I'm not in the mood to feed all the wildlife around here.Freezer camp too funny, we say the cows up the road went on their boat ride.

  9. What a great idea to have a tour of chicken coops! We only tour gardens here, but I might have to suggest the chicken coop tour.

  12. OMG, your gardens and coop is fantastic. I would have loved to go on that tour. We have visited Phoenix a couple of times in the past and had even thought about retiring there when my husband was playing golf a lot. Now he switched hobbies to rebuilding vintage cars so we will stay put.
