Kindness Matters

Do you ever feel in this broken world that there
just isn't enough kindness?

I do...

And sometimes it causes me to despair...
but every once in a while in the midst of all the
self consumption and brokenness that surrounds us
appears and reminds me that this
is not the end of the story.
We all need is the antidote of despair.
There is so much to struggle with in life that even little acts of kindness
encourages us that we were made for so much more.
Do you see this sweet little pillow?
Well my dear friend Stacey at A Sort Of Fairytale made
it for me and I have been smiling for days since its arrival!

Stacey's act of kindness made not only my day but week.
this is the front
and this is the back.
Does she know me or what?
She is participating in a "Spreading Kindness" campaign and she sent
hand made gifts to some of her fellow blog friends.
I LOVE this idea so much that I am going to join in the fun!
I am thinking up some sweet handmade gifts for a some of you...
I have a few ideas...
I am getting kinda excited to share
Kindness Matters!
No act of kindness, no matter how small is ever wasted.
It is a way to restore and renew our HOPE.
Life is hard...

I like to to think of what Samwise Gangee said in Tolkien's
Return of The King..."Does this mean everything sad is coming untrue?".

Yes, Samwise...all the sadness and tears will be but a shadow
and we will live happily ever after!

I am going to spread some kindness, live like a Hobbit
and enjoy the moments of heaven on earth!

  1. What a beautiful and sweet pillow! And how very kind of your friend. Kindness does go a long way and truly matters. I wish so many would understand that. =)

    Have a lovely weekend!

  2. I hear you! Someone did something like this for me and it blew me away!! Because it was given in love and without any reason other than kindness, it means all that much more to me! So I know how much you're going to enjoy that darling pillow!

  3. Dearest Caroline,

What a generous gesture from Stacey! The world would become a better place if more would participate in it. Let's hope that morals will get polished a bit for the near future.
    Love to you,

  4. I love this post Caroline!
Thanks for putting it out there ;)
    I love the "kindness" encouragement.

  5. Love your pillow and it has been made even more special because someone made it just for you, from their heart. I think people rush to much, they're to self-contained in their own worlds sometimes and forget that sometimes something as simple as a smile can make someones day. Next time you're out and you see someone looking your way don't avert your eyes instead smile, smile big and wide and you'll be amazed at what you receive in return. Love this post!

    Enjoy your day!

  6. Love The Hobbit reference. Your pillow is DEFINITELY you! So cute! Isn't it nice to be treated to a surprise handmade with love! What a great idea to spread kindness.

  7. Beautiful pillow and wise words from Sam....

Kindness does matter, and sadly many people are surprised by it.

    Have a lovely day, Caroline!

  8. It makes me so happy to see this pillow on your home! I looked high and low for just the right "Boho Farm" green fabric :)

  10. Thanks for this post Caroline. Kindness to others DOES matter and in the same vein Gratitude at the other end does as well. It's so simple really, Be nice to others and be grateful for all the good that is sent your way. Smiles to you on this Tuesday!

  11. so glad i found you...a breath of fresh air <3
i gave my mom a picture for her wall 20 years ago. it said,
"the world will judge us harshly enough, so let us be gentle with one another."

    kindness has never mattered more.

    you made my day.
    thank you ;)
