This week...

Has Been Jam Packed full of fun!
We are featured as the farm of the week at
We are so honored and grateful to be part of the Farmmade team.
I want to share the tour they compiled of our farm this week...
It's the third Thursday of the month and you know what that means...
that's right...Sweet Salvage.
And they are stocked up on BOHO Farm jam and jellies again this month,
so stop by this weekend and pick up some jam and vintage treasures
Our French Cuckoo Maran pullet "Mary"
named not after the mother of Jesus but after the Jane Austen
character from Pride and Prejudice.  Started crowing and at first it wasn't so
strong but this week Mr. Darcy, as we now call him, crows with gusto
and it breaks our hearts that we must give him away.  We are
legally not allowed to have rooster in the city.  We are so sad...
he is such a sweet boy but this is life on a urban farm.
There is lots of work that needs to be done for fall planting but
instead of doing that or making the jams that need to be made.
I get distracted and do little, more manageable projects like put this
paper in the back of the freestanding cabinet in our kitchen.

What have you been up to this week?

  1. Hi Caroline, I always find your blog posts so inspiring & helpful!!...Our summer garden is in it's last stages & I too want to get a Fall garden planted, but between the heat & other projects have been putting it off!...Love hearing about others who are cultivating urban gardens!!....Off to make jars & jars of pesto!...So much basil! :)....
    Your friend, Heidi XO

  2. Good morning Caroline, so nice to see all your workings and I love what you did with the back of your cupboard. Several people have roosters here and they don't actually talk at five in the morning usually late morning so not fair you can't have your guy in the city. The hens lay better with a guy prancing about. It's time to get the wood stacked for the winter and finish putting garden beds to sleep for the winter.

    Enjoy your weekend!

  3. Congratulations on your feature at farmmade - I am looking forward to their launch.

  4. Congrats! The paper on the shelf looks loving and I love the spark of color. Your raised beds are awesome. I have always wanted raised beds.

  5. Sorry you have to get rid of Mr. Darcy. Good lookin boy too. I love the red, black and white of barred rocks. I too want to get some fall planting in but we have been so hot here in SoCal. Probably hotter than you guys. It is cooler now though.

  6. I love the paper you chose to back the cabinet. It is fun and whimsical. I am looking forward to hearing about your fall planting.

  7. Jam packed! Hah so punny. (: Love Mr.Darcy. So sad to lose him!

  8. Sorry about Mr. Darcy, I feel your pain; I hatched four Blue Laced Red Wyandottes a few months ago and all four are roosters. They're stunning, but must be re-homed. Major bummer.

On a different note, I would LOVE to have you link up with the Clever Chicks Blog Hop this week!

I hope to see you there!
