A Historic Private Event Space in Downtown Phoenix
Originally built in 1903
Boho Farm is an event space and urban farm unlike any other, nestled within the Historic Roosevelt Neighborhood in Downtown Phoenix. Lovingly restored and run by its proprietor, Caroline Van Slyke, Boho Farm combines history, beauty, and hospitality.
The Story of Boho Farm
Built in 1903 on the edge of a young Phoenix, Boho Farm has welcomed community for more than a century. Once a family home, it transformed over decades into a boarding house, Sikh ashram, and free yoga school. After surviving fires and sitting vacant for years, it’s been lovingly restored into the gathering place it was always meant to be.
Nestled within the Roosevelt Historic District, the property brings together a restored Victorian home, two-story Carriage House, and lush gardens to create a one-of-a-kind setting for weddings, celebrations, retreats, and special events. Here, every gathering becomes part of the property's continuing story.

Boho Farm was originally built in 1903 for the Tharaldson family. They owned a mercantile store on Washington Street and were prominent members of local society. Grace Tharaldson often hosted social events and chorale performances in the home. She also ran activities from the home supporting the Women’s League and the purchase of liberty bonds for WWI. The home is located within the Historic Roosevelt District and is eligible for placement on the historic register.
